Profile
He has an undergraduate degree in Natural History from the Universidade de São Paulo (Bachelor’s Degree -1962) and a doctoral degree in Biology from Harvard University (1968). He is Habilitated (Livre-Docente) and a Full Professor at the Department of Zoology, Institute of Biosciences of the Universidade de São Paulo. He is currently a professor and senior researcher at the Universidade de São Paulo, performing his teaching and research activities at the Museu de Zoologia of USP. He has experience in Zoology with emphasis on Systematics, Biogeography, and Fish Evolution, working mainly on the following topics: systematics and biogeography of marine fish from the coasts of Brazil and Neotropical freshwater fish.
